Clark J. Bormann, Managing Partner

Clark, the founding partner of the firm, was born and raised in Mobridge, SD and attended the University of SD for his undergraduate studies.  He received his juris doctor from the University of SD School of Law in 1978.  Clark practiced law in SD for 10 years before moving to ND. 

Clark is licensed to practice in the State and Federal Courts of ND and SD, as well as in the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Court of Federal Claims and U.S. Supreme Court.  In addition, Clark has been certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1990 and serves as its State Coordinator.  He is also a member of the American Association for Justice, State Bar Association of ND, SD State Bar, and the SD Trial Lawyers Association.

Clark’s practice emphasizes litigation, estate planning and business law.  He has been designated a Super Lawyer since 2009, an honor based upon peer nominations, evaluations and third-party research.

Clark and his wife Mary have been married since 1975. Their daughter, Katherine, a graduate of the Julliard School, is a violinist in the Cleveland orchestra. Clark enjoys hunting and reading with emphasis on Civil War history.
